This project is one of my favorites because it's a perfect example of smart solutions. When we arrived to soft wash the home, the owner mentioned he was planning to rebuild the deck soon. I saw an opportunity and made him an offer to save some money: "Let me extend the life of this deck another five years for just $800." He agreed to the offer. We pressure washed for a consistent look, sanded the surface, and replaced two boards with pressure-treated wood matching the original. The NEW wood needs a full year to release the protective gases that keep it safe from water and insects. So, the two new PT deck boards sit raw during that time-not pretty, but it works. The owner was thrilled to save money on a full rebuild. His Texas summer home only gets used a few days a year anyway, so the raw wood wasn't a concern. Sometimes the best solution isn't the fanciest one-it's the smart one that keeps money in the customer's pocket.

Our process was straightforward but thorough: we washed the deck first, followed by careful sanding to prepare the surface, then applied a clear oil stain to bring out the wood's natural beauty.
